Proverbs 23:16 (New King James Version)
“Yes, my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak right things.”
Proverbs 24:21
“My son, fear the LORD and the king; Do not associate with those given to change”
Proverbs 25:28
“Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.”
Proverbs 26:22
“The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body.”
Proverbs 27:17
“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
Proverbs 28:13
“He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
Proverbs 29:20
Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”
Words can be very hurtful to your body/spirit. We, as Christians, must love everyone, but we don’t *tolerate* everything.
Does It Matter What We Say?
1 John 5:14
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him,
that if we ask ANYTHING according to His WILL, He hears us.”
We can have WHAT the Bible says. Getting the Word of God in us is an important part. The Words of God are LIFE.
Psalm 37:4
“Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall GIVE you the desires of your heart.”
The Bible is the manual for your life. It is pertinent today.
John 15:4
“ABIDE in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine,
neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
Joshua 1:8
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your MOUTH, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
You “abide” in Jesus, by mediating on the Words in the Bible. If we get it in our mouths.
Romans 10:8-9, 17
“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’:
that if you CONFESS with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
So then FAITH comes by HEARING, and hearing by the word of God.”
It takes our confession/words to be saved.
Word of Faith
No matter how dark our life is, the Word of God shows us the way. Words get you where you are supposed to be.
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for they become your destiny.” (Author Unknown)
You can feel, or just know, that the return of Jesus is VERY SOON! We can have a victorious life while on earth, while we wait for His return.
Living Right With God
God sent Jesus Christ for our sins, so He can have us as His children. He loves us and wants to spend time with us. By studying the Word, we find out more about Him. It is very easy to get distracted today (such as, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc). We need to create a habit of getting alone with God.
Just be quiet. Take the time. Sometimes you have to put yourself in a place where you can be alone with the Lord. To start a habit, you just have to start doing it. They say it takes 14 days to start/learn something. To UNlearn something, it takes 11 to 14 times LONGER to do this.
Psalm 19:14
”Let the WORDS of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.”
David had a heart after God. He said “let the WORDS of my mouth and mediation of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight”.
Psalm 141:3
“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.”
Ask God to help you watch what you say. You need to speak words of life. Character is who you are, when no one see you. Character is consistency – how you act in front of others, and just by yourself. You should be the kind of person that says what you say alone and in front of others. Otherwise, you are a hypocrite. What others do should not affect our walk with God.
Meditate on God’s Word. Then you will see a change in your life.
