Walk into one church and you’ll hear that God’s will is to BLESS His people –
to heal, prosper and pour out His goodness on them in every area of life.
Walk into another and you’ll hear the exact opposite –
that God puts sickness and poverty on His people to teach them lessons,
that He leaves them in evil and oppressive situations for reasons only He can understand.
Of course, people have their philosophies and fragments of Scripture to back up what they believe.
Every group is convinced they are right. So the arguments continue. The confusion remains…
for no good reason.
That’s the worst part about it. The entire conflict is unnecessary. The Bible settled the issue for
us long ago. It spelled out, with unmistakable clarity, God’s will for all mankind, for all time, in
the very first chapter of the Book. In the beginning, God made His plan known.
What’s amazing is how we could have missed it for so long.
