A Prayer for Health and Healing

To receive healing after you get sick is great, but to live in divine health continually is greater.
Proverbs 4:22 says that God’s Words is life to us and medicine to our flesh. Make a quality decision
to live in health. Use this confession to build the image of divine health in your heart. Confessing
God’s Word will activate faith in your heart (Romans 10:17). As you make this confession before God,
remember that He watches over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12, The Amplified Bible) and it
will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11, The Amplified Bible).

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I confess Your Word concerning healing. As I do this,
I believe and say that Your Word will not return to You void but will accomplish
what it says it will. Therefore, I believe in the Name of Jesus that I am healed
according to 1 Peter 2:24.

It is written in Your Word that Jesus Himself took my infirmities and bore my
sicknesses (Matthew 8:17). Therefore, with great boldness and confidence I say on
the authority of that written Word that I am redeemed from the curse of sickness and I
refuse to tolerate its symptoms.

Satan, I speak to you in the Name of Jesus and say that your principalities, your
powers, your master spirits who rule the present darkness, and your spiritual
wickedness in heavenly places are bound from operating against me in any way. I am
loosed from your assignment. I am the property of Almighty God and I give you no
place in me. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High God; I abide, remain stable
and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand.

Now, Father, because I reverence and worship You, I have the assurance of Your Word
that the angel of the Lord encamps around me and delivers me from every evil work.
No evil shall befall me, no plague or calamity shall come near my dwelling. I confess
The Word of God abides in me and delivers to me perfect soundness of mind and
wholeness in body and spirit from the deepest parts of my nature, even to the joints
and marrow of my bones. Your Word is medication and life to my flesh, for the law of
the Spirit of life operates in me and makes me free from the law of sin and death.

I have on the whole armor of God and the shield of faith protects me from all the fiery
darts of the wicked. Jesus is the High Priest of my confession, and I hold fast to my
confession of faith in Your Word. I stand immovable and fixed in full assurance that I
have health and healing NOW, in Jesus’ Name.

By Partaking of the Lord’s Supper

Exodus 12:3-11
Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for
himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is
too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of
the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall
be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. Now
you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the
two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. Then they shall eat the flesh on that
night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw,
nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. You shall let
none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. And thus
you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So
you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover.

1 Corinthians 11:23-32
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night
in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,
“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty
of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and
drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself,
not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened
by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Basic, fundamental way to receive healing, though long overlooked by the Church.
When you receive the body and blood of the Lord Jesus, you should be standing on the New
Testament, acting on The Word of God.

By Acting as if the New Testament Is True

1 Peter 5:5-7

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.

Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,

that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Accept it as absolute truth. Don’t be moved by how you feel. True Bible humility means standing
before God in obedience to His Word, casting ALL your care over on Him.

True Bible humility
says,
“I don’t look healed; I don’t feel healed; but God’s Word says by His stripes ye were healed,
so I must be healed. I accept The Word rather than the circumstances.”

By Having Faith in the Name of Jesus

Acts 3:6
Then Peter said,
“Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Acts 16
Then he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the
son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek. He was well spoken of by
the brethren who were at Lystra and Iconium. Paul wanted to have him go on with him. And he took
him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in that region, for they all knew that his
father was Greek. And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep,
which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened
in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy
Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but
the Spirit did not permit them. So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision
appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying,
“Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the
Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Therefore, sailing from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and the next day came to
Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is the foremost city of that part of Macedonia, a colony.
And we were staying in that city for some days. And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to
the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who
met there. Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of
Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And
when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying,
“If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.”

So she persuaded us.

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination
met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and
cried out, saying,
“These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.”

And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit,
“I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged
them into the marketplace to the authorities. And they brought them to the magistrates, and said,
“These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city; and they teach customs which are not lawful
for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.”

Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and
commanded them to be beaten with rods. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw
them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he
put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were
listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were
shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the
keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners
had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying,
“Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them
out and said,
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

So they said,
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the
same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.
Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having
believed in God with all his household.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the officers, saying,
“Let those men go.”

So the keeper of the prison reported these words to Paul, saying,
“The magistrates have sent to let you go. Now therefore depart, and go in peace.”

But Paul said to them,
“They have beaten us openly, uncondemned Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now
do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.”

And the officers told these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they
were Romans. Then they came and pleaded with them and brought them out, and asked them to depart
from the city. So they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen
the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.

John 14:12-14
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also;
and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask
in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything
in My name, I will do it.

Jesus’ Name carries all the authority of Jesus Himself. When Peter spoke in Jesus’ Name, it was
as if Jesus were speaking. He didn’t pray for the man at the Beautiful gate; he spoke words
of faith in Jesus’ Name.

Proverbs 12:18
Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
But he who hates correction is stupid.

Mark 11:23
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’
and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things
he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Mark 5:22-42
And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him,
he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying,
“My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her,
that she may be healed, and she will live.”

So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from
many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When
she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said,
“If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed
of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned
around in the crowd and said,
“Who touched My clothes?”

But His disciples said to Him,
“You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”

And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling,
knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.
And He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said,
“Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue,
“Do not be afraid; only believe.”

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. Then
He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and
wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them,
“Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”

And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother
of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took
the child by the hand, and said to her,
“Talitha, cumi,”which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”

Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome
with great amazement.

Overlaps with the point, "By Believing The Word for Yourself." When you believe The Word for
yourself, you will automatically speak words of faith. It involves more than just saying,
“I’m healed,” a couple of times.

You have to dedicate yourself—your time and efforts—to receiving the very best God
has to offer. Both Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood spoke the desired end result.
They spoke faith-filled word.

By the Laying On of Hands

Two Ways:
(1) By any believer (Mark 16:15-20)
And He said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will
   be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who
believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up
serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the
   sick, and they will recover.”

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right
hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming
the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

(2) By special ministries (1 Corinthians 12)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were
Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you
that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is
Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences
of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who
works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one
is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same
Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another
the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another
different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many,
are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews
or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the
body is not one member but many. If the foot should say,

“Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,”
is it therefore not of the body?

And if the ear should say,
“Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,”
is it therefore not of the body?

If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole
were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the
body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed
there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand,
“I have no need of you”;
nor again the head to the feet,
“I have no need of you.”

No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those
members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our
unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed
the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the
body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers,
all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church:
first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps,
administrations, varieties of tongues.

Are all apostles?
Are all prophets?
Are all teachers?
Are all workers of miracles?
Do all have gifts of healings?
Do all speak with tongues?
Do all interpret?

But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

Scriptural Ways To Obtain Healing:
By Praying the Prayer of Faith

John 16:23
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you,
whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

A very simple form of prayer. It involves more than just praying, “Heal me, Father.”

The proper way to pray in faith is,
“Father, in Jesus’ Name, I ask You for a manifestation of my healing.
I believe I receive it now and I thank You for it.”

Watch how you pray. Get your attitude straight. Make a point of praying in faith,
speaking right words in prayer.

Matthew 16:17-19
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My
Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build
My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of
the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever
you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18:18-20
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth
concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where
two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Luke 9:42
And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked
the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father.

When two believers agree in prayer, Jesus is in their midst. One can put a thousand to flight,
but two can put 10,000 to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30)

Scriptural Ways To Obtain Healing:
By Calling for the Elders of the Church

James 5:14
Is anyone among you sick?
Let him call for the elders of the church,
and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Elders are men who know how to pray the prayer of faith. A diploma does not automatically qualify
a person to be an elder. Be sure that the people you call on for prayer support are men of faith.

Scriptural Ways To Obtain Healing:
By Believing The Word for Yourself

Proverbs 4:20-23
My son, give attention to my words;
      Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes;
      Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
      And health to all their flesh.
Keep your heart with all diligence,
      For out of it spring the issues of life.

Matthew 13:15
  For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
      Their ears are hard of hearing,
      And their eyes they have closed,
      Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
      Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
      So that I should heal them.’

The highest form of faith. Difficult, at first, because of contrary physical circumstances.
Train yourself to look at God’s Word, not at the evidence of your five physical senses.

> Hear The Word.
> Receive it by faith.
> Stand on it.

You need no further evidence.
