Well, it’s the same way with the word, ‘word.’ We have ‘word’ in the English language.
Greeks had ‘Logos’ and they had ‘Rhema.’ Okay?
Your Bible is the Logos of God. It’s the whole concept. It is a complete thought. Jesus, the Bible said,
was the Word in John 1. Jesus is the full concept of God. The Bible said, ‘if you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve
seen God. If you want to know what God looks like, look at Jesus.’ So, we’re talking about the whole Bible,
the whole truth, the whole concept, the whole message – packaged.
Your Bible is the Logos. IT IS THE WORD OF GOD.
But when the doctor says, ‘Your diabetes has ruined your kidneys, and we don’t know if there is anyway
that they can ever function normally again. You are going to be on dialysis the rest of your life.’ Okay. This
whole Book then is not where you draw your faith. Faith cometh by another kind of word – Rhema. So,
I don’t turn to Psalm I [where it says, ‘Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful’]. If I’ve been told my kidneys are
shutting down, I’m not just trying to get the whole Book to get my healing. I’ve got to pull SOMETHING
out of that Book that is seasonally STRATEGIC to my situation.
It is a strategic Word. It is a pointed Word and the Bible says that a real workman of the Word knows how
to rightly divide the word of Truth. So in other words, to really make this thing [Bible] work for you, you’ve
got to know how to cut it up into small pieces and you’ve got to know how to APPLY certain parts to the
trouble that is in your life. That is when you become dangerous.
Some of you are not dangerous because you have to go to somebody ELSE to get the right Word that
goes to your life. But when YOU get your own Word and you can rightly divide the Word of Truth, and
you can man your holsters with the gun of the Word of God and pull it out whenever you need it, you
aren’t something that hell usually does not want to pick a fight with.
So Faith DOESN’T cometh by the whole Book. Faith cometh by hearing. So when
you have a bad relationship and you’re trying to protect your kids and you hear so and so coming after
them, what do you do? Well, you go to Psalm 91, ‘He gives His angels CHARGE over thee. You shall not
fear the arrow that flieth by day. No harm shall come near your dwelling.’

protection problem, you need a protection Word, If you've got an addiction problem, you need a freedom
Word.'
