The Bible talks about ships and wind. Wind comes from storms. But it did not say the storm steers the ship.
It is normal for our tongue to take on the turmoil in our life. Whatever turmoil exists, our tongue takes on
the turmoil, and locks us in it because our tongue keeps what was supposed to be a small storm alive for
a LONG time.
In other words, you let the wind start steering you instead of keeping hold of the rudder. When the wind
blows against my life and I begin to enter the storms of life, He says I can still steer my life in the right
direction IF I don’t let the wind get the rudder (which is my tongue), but I keep hold of my rudder.
He said, ‘The winds can be FIERCE! But if the captain has got the rudder, he can still take the
ship wherever he wants to.’
And the enemy can blow against my life, but if I can control my tongue, I can still head towards my
purpose. But, if I ever start TALKING what the WIND is doing in my life, then the WIND is going to
start blowing my life wherever IT wants it to go.
And what you’ve got to learn to do is:
✔ It’s not hard to talk right when things are right. But, can you talk right when things are WRONG?
Because you can’t let the wind have the rudder. You’ve got to let the wind blow but you control the rudder
and you will steer this ship right through the fierceness of the wind, IF YOU CAN HANG ONTO
YOUR TONGUE!
And say, ‘I will NOT be fearful. I have been given a sound mind. I am NOT sick. I AM strong in
the Lord and in the power of His might. I will not be ashamed. I will NOT be afraid. I will
forgive out of my heart.’
You see, you’ve got to HOLD ON to it!
