Genesis 8:22
"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat,
and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
God talked about seasons in several places.
Proverbs 10:5
"He that gathereth in summer is a wise son:
but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame."
He tells us what to do, in the season we are in. Spiritually, we need to be talking to God ALL the time, so when a bad season comes, you are ALREADY filled up with God's Word.
Sometimes, when life is easy, some people don't want to go to church, and just want to "enjoy the day". But when the hard times come, we find we are depleted.
Galatians 6:7-9
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
You are going to reap what you sow. We need a balance. But if you only feed the flesh, then that's what you'll get. When you feed your SPIRIT, then your spirit will grow. Feed on God's Word ALL the time.
Psalm 16:7
"will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel:
my reins also instruct me in the night SEASONS."
The Bible says IN everything give thanks; not for everything give thanks. In order words, you don't thank God FOR the circumstance; you thank God IN it. We should pray and ask for His wisdom. But again, we need to feed on the Word NOW, in the good times, so you'll be prepared in the bad times. We can trust God in the midst of darkness. We have the assurance that He will take care of us. But we have to be prepared spiritually for this. We sow what we reap. Everything we do, is a seed. Encouragement is a seed.
Genesis 1:2
"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
When we plant a seed, we reap what we sow. When we speak the Word, read the Word,
then we are planting a seed and will reap this.
