the hands of somebody else. What does that mean? You’re going to sit there and be mad until they come
back and apologize. What if they don’t come back until 2036? Well, you just wasted 20 something years.
YOU take care of your offense right THEN! Your emotions and feelings are your responsibility, and
if YOU hurt ME, MY feelings are NOT YOUR responsibility. It is STILL my responsibility:
> It’s my responsibility when I hurt me.
> It’s my responsibility when you hurt me.
This is MY heart. This is MY life. Okay? You have got to make people EARN your heart. A true
relationship cannot exist, a close one, unless you give your heart away. Your marriage has no closure,
unless you give your heart away. The problem is, when you give your heart away, you’ve given your
garden away. Because if I don’t love you, you can’t hurt me.
If I love you, you have access to my soil. If I love you, I have let down my “guard”. The only people that
have ever hurt you are people you love. Why? Nobody else has the power. Because everybody else, you
have your guard up. But when I say, “I love you,” your guard comes down. That means you can plant in
my field.
That’s why the worst offense, is the people that are closer to you. The closer the person is to you, the
worse the pain. You have got to turn around and tend your garden. Because to tend a garden does not
mean you just plant things – it mean you pull weeds out. And some of you have been good at planting,
but you’ve never been good at weeding. And you’ve got to go in and get such and such out, and then also
such and such out
Guard your heart for out it flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Now, notice we’re still in Mark chapter 4, still in the same topics, still in the same day, still in the same
scene. Okay? How do you know that? Because when Jesus got through with all this teaching, sower and
seed and mustard seed, Mark 4:35 says, ‘On the same day’. On the same day of when He was teaching
all this stuff. God is phenomenal at creating scenarios where you have to use what He taught.
Mark 4:35
“On the same day, when evening had come,
He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’”
So what did Jesus do? He sowed the Word. What did He say? We’re moving forward.
WORD ALWAYS MOVES YOU.
Mark 4:36-41
36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was.
And other little boats were also with Him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat,
so that it was already filling.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow.
And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!”
And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another,
“Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
They said, ‘This guy has water doing what He says!’ Now there are several things here I want to point out.
This is very powerful. To me after Jesus says He’s going to explain the mystery of the Kingdom, this is the
second most powerful thing that happened. Let me help you understand why it’s so powerful.
A master teacher is one who teaches you a principle and then demonstrates it. You have no greater
teacher than somebody that will tell you and then show you. That’s the best teaching in the world. That’s
parenting in the world. That’s mentoring in the world: Is to tell them and then show them. Okay?
In Mark 4, Jesus JUST got through saying, ‘When you get a Word from Me, it’s got a 1 in 4 chance. Let
me tell you what’s going to happen. When you get a Word, satan is going to [snatch] it away. So you need
to understand, when you leave this [service], satan comes [to snatch it away]. Satan comes immediately.’
You get a Word on healing and bend over to pick up your Bible and your back gets a terrible pain. And
you JUST heard a message on healing. And you say, ‘Oh, oh, I have this pain.’ Satan comes immediately
to steal the Word that was sown.
He’s finished teaching. Now let’s move into the demo. “Let us cross over to the other side.” The sower
sows the Word. “Okay!” They hear it with gladness and get in the boat. Okay? They start on their way. All
of a sudden, wind and waves are beating the side. Water filling up the boat. Okay?
What did Jesus say? “Let us go to the other side.” His Word can’t return void. There is no way that
boat can’t make it. As soon as Jesus spoke that Word, it became impossible for that boat not to hit that
other shore. That’s why one of them is sleeping. Because God knows the potential of what He said. God
knows when He speaks a thing it has to perform. That which He spoke to do.
So He ain’t worried about waves and water. He’s sleeping.
Why? Because the Word has to work when It goes forth. So Jesus has FAITH in what He says.
