“So He said, ‘Come.’
And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid;
and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ‘Lord, save me!’
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him,
‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’
And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.”
Peter is so much like us. His faith was high. He was the ONLY disciple to get out of the boat. Peter WALKED on water… BUT, then he started doubting…
When we’re in our trial, there is a time-frame. There is a duration. We have to go through that, but we get our patience. We must have FAITH and believe and we’ll stay on top of the water. But when we get our eyes OFF Jesus, then we start to sink.
We need to be in the world, but not of it. Don’t watch the news that much, because they distract us and hurt our faith. Anything that causes us to doubt or gets our eyes off of Jesus, causes us to doubt.
We need to stay on top of our trial. Be like Peter, but keep our eyes on Him.
Don’t fear. Don’t doubt.
John 16:33
“’These things I have spoken to you,
that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.’”
You can overcome this. We don’t have to sin. He saved us. We don’t have to have sorrow, because He bore the sorrows and pains. Jesus has already overcome the world.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus. But how? Keep our eyes on the WORD of God and what ITsays to us. Just read the Word, and the more you will KNOW Him.
God is a rewarder. He will be in the fire with you. Don’t resist, because Jesus will be there with you in that trial.
