heart, will result in a thick, insensitive, unfeeling conscious. It will make you dull, so that you’re not clear
and aware.”
Today, we expand more on this topic.

So, when people say, ‘You know, I knew I should have.’ How did you know that you should have? How did
you know that? And people act like that’s a sign of their spirituality because they say, ‘I know I should have,’
indicating they’re spiritual. NO! If you had been spiritual you would have listened – you would have done it.
You would have followed it.
You know, people get mad at God. They quit praying and reading their Bible, quit going to church,
they get bitter and say:
‘Why did God let this happen?’
‘Why didn’t God protect us?’
‘Why didn’t God save us?’
And that is the wrong question. That is absolutely the wrong question.
The question is: Why didn’t you listen to Him? Why didn’t you listen? Why didn’t you heed?
I know a lady called me one time and she was so upset. She had been mugged that day in a large city.
She was crying and called for prayer. I prayed with her and she said, ‘I wish you could tell me how this
could happen to me?’ She’s mad and upset. She said, ‘I’m a child of God. I quote the 91st Psalm everyday
virtually. I dwell in the secret place of the most High, no harm will befall me, nothing will come near my
dwelling.’ She said, ‘How could this happen to me?’
Well, when she’s saying that, I didn’t know what to tell her. I’m checking on the inside and the Spirit of God
prompted me to ask her a couple of questions. I said, ‘What was going on? You needed to go in this place?
What was happening?’
And she said, ‘Well, no.’ She said, ‘Actually, I had a check about going down there.’ She said, ‘But, I’m a
saint of God and I quote the 91st Psalm and I’m protected.’
And I learned that day, you cannot override a check of the Spirit with a faith confession.
You know, people want to confess protection and ignore the direction. It doesn’t work that way.

Particularly if the situation doesn’t warrant it. Now, if you’re pressed into a place (police officer, military,
etc.) and God lets you know there’s danger in there, he’s letting you know that so you CAN protect
yourself. BUT, that lady didn’t even have any business being over there.

My nephew has done two tours in Iraq. We got him materials on his part; his responsibility in believing for
protection.
And one of the big parts is this: being led by the Spirit.
And my nephew knew 10 times where the Lord saved his life. The Spirit of God would check him. But
what if he had not of listened?
You need to pay attention to what you get on the inside. When something comes up:
✘ Don’t push it down.
✘ Don’t wrestle with it.
✘ Don’t push it away.
Obey it.
