2 Timothy 3:5-8
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.
And from such people turn away!
6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives
of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth:
men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
James says, ‘If you’re a hearer of the Word but not a doer, that you deceive your own self.’ And so that’s
this condition that’s being described of ever learning but NOT able to come into the knowledge (2 Timothy 3:7)
Then a person is looking for the answer 10 years later, 15 years later, 20 years later still looking for the answer – learning, learning, learning – [and say,]
‘But why can’t I get it?’
And this is a self-deceived position. It is a result of rejection/resisting of Truth, failing to walk in Light
that one received back there those 10, 15, 20 years ago.

Have you talked to people and they are sitting there telling you what they’d like for you to pray about? And
you’re hearing this and this is something that must have happened in the last few days, and you’re hearing
this and you’re ready to pray. Come to find out it happened 25 years ago!!
But when you hear them tell it, it sounds like it happened in the last day [or so], because in their minds
it’s present tense.

Well, the condition of their heart is present tense. They didn’t do what they knew they should do.
They’re still in that condition of offense. They are still in that SAME place.
But what happens [is if] you do that long enough, you become deceived.
Now, “deceived” means you’re not pretending a certain thing or way; you believe it’s that way but you’re
believing a lie. And that puts you in a place of darkness, where that’s why people are continually trying
to get it, TRYING to get it but can’t come to it.
