Some of us are up fighting the devil when they need to quit listening to “them.” They’re the devil. It ain’t
in the air… you’re listening to them. "Guard your heart."
Now, when you guard something, it has to be guarded at the gate. A city has gates. If they get past the
gate, it’s too late. They’re going to take over the city. The city is fortified at the entrance. Don’t let them
get past the gate. It’s not built to fight off enemies once they get past the gate. It’s built to fend off its
enemies at the GATE. So, when He says, “Guard your heart,” you can’t guard your heart without
guarding your gate.
There are 3 gateways to the heart:
1) You have an EAR gate,
2) You have an EYE gate,
3) You have a MOUTH gate.
Those are the 3 gateways to your field. How ever you use those 3 gateways will determine the issues
of your life. The Bible says whatever your mouth says is an overflow of the heart and what you say you
have. What you say you have.
And if some of you would record yourself and go back and listen, you’d know why your life is the way it is.
Because all you’ve done is sabotage yourself all day with your tongue:
✘ All you’ve done is tell how sick you are,
✘ All you’ve done is tell how bad your life is,
✘ All you’ve done is tell how unhappy your are,
✘ All you’ve done is tell how broke you are,
✘ All you’ve done is tell how there are no opportunities for you.
And guess what? The next day, you get up and:
☞ There are no opportunities,
☞ You feel sick,
☞ You feel bad,
☞ Nothing’s going right.
And then what? That day you tell how broke you are, you tell everybody how sick you are, you tell
everybody how bad you feel.
Then, the following day you wakeup and guess what?
✘ You’re sick,
✘ You don’t feel good,
✘ You have no opportunities.
You are SPEAKING YOUR ISSUES INTO EXISTANCE because you will not grab your
gate [tongue] and shut it down. And it’s not hard to shut down that gate… the tongue.
You have an EYE gate. The Bible says the eye is the lamp of the body. And the Bible says whatever the
eye is full of then the WHOLE person is full of it. In other words He says, ‘What you view
consumes you.’ That’s scary.
EAR gate. Faith cometh by hearing. Hearing by the Word of God. I’m not going to listen to preachers
talk about other preachers. “We’ll, have you heard…?” No, and I don’t want to. Why? I’m not going to let
you put that in my field. You think I’m going to open up my garden and let you put that seed in me. Why?
Because I don’t want those issues.
If the heart is the place that faith is conceived, the Bible says you’ve got to be guarding your heart with
diligence. In other words, you’ve got to guard your day in such a way, knowing that you
have an ENEMY trying to get stuff in your field too.
And the parable of the wheat and tares: the man came out the next morning and the Bible says the tares had grown up with the wheat.
And the worker said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field?’
And he said, ‘An enemy has done this.’
There is an enemy trying to defile your field. Because he knows if he can defile your heart,
then you’re going to have all kind of issues growing up in your life. And we spend our whole life taking
care of issues, because we let stuff get in our field because we didn’t know how to diligently fend it off
at our gate.
The warfare doesn’t start at your heart; it starts at your gate. Having the ability and the
courage to remove yourself from defiling seed. Having the ability of not letting stuff get in your field,
because once it hits the soil, it’s an issue. If he can just violate your soil, he gives you an issue.
You have to guard your heart. You have to walk away and forgive. Why? If you don’t, you’ll have an
issue. You’ve go to guard it. And the Bible says, “diligently.” Why? You can’t be passive.
When you talk about guarding your heart, you’re guarding your life. Now,
I’m not going to let this get in me. I’m going to keep my field undefiled.
Why? It is the place where my life grows.
