But when I got MY Word [Rhema], that it was MINE, THEN I moved forward by Faith. Because Faith
cometh by hearing. All of a sudden the stuff I needed in the inside of me to pull this miracle off – I had
by the Word of God.
Let me show you the difference. They were in the boat in the middle of the night. Jesus was walking on
the water. You need to get the first session by Michael Pitts if you want to hear somebody wear this story
out! Jesus comes walking on the water. They thought it was a ghost. So one thing Michael Pitts brought
out that I thought was beautiful – He’s so far away they don’t recognize Him.
So give Peter some credit. He didn’t take 3 steps and fall. Sometime you can walk a long way by faith.
Sometime you can walk with God 30 years and still stumble. But Jesus wasn’t right there and he took
2 steps and started sinking. He was so far away they didn’t know who He was.
And Peter spoke up and said,
‘Lord, if it’s you, bid me to come.’
Jesus said,
‘Come.’ ‘Come.’ Okay.
The headline in your Bible says, ‘Peter walks on the water.’ Peter never walked on WATER. People don’t
walk on water. He walked on the WORD. If Peter had not had heard, ‘Come,’ he would have put one
foot out and sank straight to the bottom of the sea. ‘Cause people can’t walk on water. He had to have
a WORD for this miracle.
Now, 2000 years later… Ron Carpenter… I have a pool that I didn’t build. Okay? I can pick up my Logos
to Matthew 14 and say, ‘Peter walked on water. Peter walked on water. Peter walked on water.’ And I
can go stand out next to my pool and say, ‘Peter walked on water. Peter walked on water.’ And here I go
and walk straight to the bottom of that pool and bubbles come up.
Why?
Because God didn’t tell ME to walk on water. I had a Logos but I didn’t have a RHEMA. And when you
walk out into impossibilities without a WORD and then you get bitter because you sank. You cannot
walk on Words God never spoke. You can only walk on the ones He spoke.
What did Jesus tell Satan?
Man does not live on bread alone, but every WORD that proceeds out of the MOUTH of God.
When you get your Word, it’s yours. God fights the battles and don’t you lose sight of it until you hold it!
Ask God, ‘God, is this job mine?’ You don’t want to run around for 7 weeks putting in 84 applications. I
wanted somebody that would fix Hope’s hip. I’ve got a wife that’s only 42 years old and walks like she’s
82 years old. Finally we found out the tendon wasn’t even attached. And everybody said we can’t operate
on it because of where it is. So we pulled up the internet for hip doctors. But you got them from here to
Ghana.
You know what I said?
‘Lord, I don’t have time to go on a 5 year search. Take us straight to the one who says I can fix that hip.’
God showed us the one, went there and we’ve already got it scheduled to fix that hip. ‘No problem, I’ll fix
that hip.’
This plays right into my school of the Holy Spirit because to get Rhema, you’ve got to HEAR. If man lives
on what God just said, you’ve got to HEAR what He just said.
Which means you’ve got to have an ATTENTIVE spirit.
