You know, I’ve been preaching to this younger generation and the thing I’ve noticed about this young
generation that really challenges me is that nothing is sacred. Now, the older generation were too religious.
But we get to the generation we’ve got now: nothing is sacred; nothing is holy.
The heart… The problem with the heart is that you have got to evaluate and solve heart issues BEFORE
crisis comes. We wait till a crisis to make decisions. You have to make decisions in your HEART before
crisis comes. And you have to evaluate in your heart what your convictions are in life. And then you have
to have those pilings driven so DEEP down in your soul, that when the storm comes they are
IMMOVABLE and UNQUESTIONABLE.
And this is what I do not see this generation doing. You have to ask yourself tough questions. You have
to answer questions on the interior before you answer them on the exterior.
I have had many, many, many difficult moments in my life. It came through my mind last year: ‘quitting.’
But here’s the problem:
I answered that question a long time a go, BEFORE crisis came. I made up my mind and I drove
deep down in my heart pilings, like one that holds up a bridge over an ocean.
‘Quitting is NOT an option.’ Okay!
Then crisis hits me! Emotionally bankrupt! Burnt out! Spent! Beat up! And here it comes:
‘Why don’t you get out of it.’
Now, if I had of waited till 2010 to answer that… If you haven’t done it, there’s a place in life when you
need to do it in your youth.
Is there ever a time it’s all right to quit? You got to answer that question. ONE TIME AND FOR ALL!
And you got to drive that piling in the ground and you got to dig it deep. And when crisis comes, it’s either a
conviction and if it’s not a conviction it becomes an option.
Is there ever a time it will be all right to abandon my family? I’m in it! You’re messing with James [in the
Bible] now! Is there ever a…
‘Ron Carpenter answer this: Before you go out there, Apostle, is there ever a time it’s all right for you
to abandon your family? Answer and drive it DEEP!’
And when stress comes it’s a conviction NOT an option. Is there ever a time it’s all right to lie? No! It’s
never all right to lie! Drive it deep! And then when crisis comes, you don’t have to go back and answer it.
An evil heart has got to transition to a heart of conviction. Because if you don’t drive it deep, you have to
answer it every time it passes through your mind. And that’s what I see in the heart – people have not
done in this generation.
So, when the wind blows, their life goes all over the place. Why? Because they never took the time
personally with God to say,
‘Where do I stand in my personal convictions with the Lord Jesus Christ?’
And there are things in my life driven so deep that it will NEVER be an option, because the conviction
of it overpowers it ever becoming an option.
